1. My answer: He's talking about how he has done for this cat, by not hurting him, but he consistently begins to think about hurting the cat, that he once loved. He's showing love to the cat but nothing else.
2. It's describing the magnificence in the cat, that's why he loves it so much.
3. Pluto is the God of evil.
4. It shows his quick change in emotion and mood. It shows that the alcohol made him angry.
5. Because he loves him, and he meant a lot to him.
6. Because he's grown angry, and the cat's love rages his anger.
7. He felt bad, then outraged in an instant. He begins to feel hatred instead of sympathy for the cat.
8. One of the primitive impulses of the human heart. Yes. It is because we all make hateful and selfish decisions.
9. He felt bad that the cat still loved him after all he did to it. Also it made him feel sick in a twisted way.
10. He's delusional.
